It gives us great pleasure to introduce our book “General Pharmacy” to pharmacy students. The process of writing a book is motivating, frequently thrilling, and occasionally quite difficult. “The book is written in accordance with the new 2026 PCI B.Pharm syllabus.”
Pharmaceutics is essential to the development of formulations and the assessment of different dosage forms. This book will primarily help students learn about the history and scope of pharmacy, different pharmacopoeias, medication and prescription incompatibilities, standard dosage forms, pharmaceutical calculations, and the fundamentals of pharmaceutics. Every topic is covered in full, and when necessary, appropriate examples are provided. This book is very helpful for comprehending the principle or principles and techniques involved in the most straightforward formulation of different dosage forms. To meet the needs of the students, the book includes computations and significant questions pertaining to the subjects.

Dr. Sudipta Das has obtained his Ph.D degree from Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. Presently he is working as Professor and HOD, Dept. of Pharmaceutics at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Institute of Pharmacy. He has 20 years of teaching experience in both under graduate and post graduate courses of Pharmacy especially in Pharmaceutics. He has more than 100 research publications in both National and International reputed Journals. 10 patents in his credit. Author participated and presented papers in many National and International Conferences. He has successfully guided thirty eight post graduate students. Author successfully guided three Ph.D student from Jadavpur University and MAKAUT. Presently he is also guiding Ph.D fellows. Author has editorial board member and reviewer of some International Journals. He has already authored three books in the subject Pharmaceutics. Many book chapters are also in his credit in Taylor and Francis group. Author has six granted patents. The author is also life member of some professional bodies like Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers in India, Fellow of Indian Chemical Society and Fellow of Institute of Chemist India. He conferred “Award for Teaching Excellence” in the year 2017 and Swami Vivekananda Excellence Award in 2019.
Ms. Rimi Dey is working as an Assistant Professor at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Institute of Pharmacy at Chakdaha, Nadia, West Bengal.She has completed her M. Pharm in Pharmaceutics in 2020 from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Institute of Pharmacy, Chakdaha, Nadia, West Bengal. She has 4 years of teaching experience. She is a life member of APTI. She has 4 research/review article in various national / International journal, one book chapter and 1 patent. He is also a life member of the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI).
Ms. Baishali Ghosh, working as an Assistant Professor at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Institute of Pharmacy at Chakdaha, Nadia, West Bengal.She has completed her M. Pharm in Pharmaceutics in 2020 from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Institute of Pharmacy, Chakdaha, Nadia, West Bengal. She has 4 years of teaching experience. She is a life member of APTI. She has 8 research/review paper in various national/ Internation journal and 2 patent on granted by Uk Design to her credit.
Sawan Das, M.Pharm is currently working as an assistant professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Institute of Pharmacy, Chakdaha, Nadia, India. Last year he published two peer-reviewed research papers and holds one patent. His main area of research is in the design and development of Novel Drug Delivery Systems like – microspheres, liposomes, and nanoparticles. Attend multiple national and international seminars/conferences and present papers. He is also a life member of the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI).
