Human Anatomy, Physiology and Pathophysiology are fundamental subjects in pharmaceutical education, providing the knowledge required to understand the structure and functions of the human body and the changes that occur during disease. Practical training in these subjects enables students to correlate theoretical concepts with laboratory observations, thereby strengthening their scientific understanding and professional skills. This Practical Handbook has been prepared in accordance with the latest syllabus prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) for the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) programme. It has been designed to serve as a comprehensive laboratory guide for students, covering all the prescribed practical exercises in a simple, systematic, and student-friendly manner.
Each experiment includes the aim, principle, requirements, procedure, observations, calculations (where applicable), result, precautions, and assignment questions to facilitate effective learning and accurate record keeping. Appropriate illustrations and tables have also been incorporated to enhance conceptual understanding and practical competence.
It is hoped that this handbook will help students develop essential laboratory skills, improve their analytical abilities, and foster a scientific approach to learning. It is also expected to serve as a useful reference for teachers and laboratory instructors during practical sessions.
Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy and quality of the content. Suggestions from teachers, students, and readers for further improvement will be sincerely welcomed and appreciated in future editions.
