About Author

Dr. R. Ramasubramania Raja, M.Pharm., Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacognosy at the College of Pharmacy, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. He earned his B.Pharm. from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, his M.Pharm. in Phytomedicine and Phytopharmacy from SASTRA University, Thanjavur, and his Ph.D. in Pharmacognosy from PRIST University, Thanjavur.
With over 19 years of distinguished experience in pharmaceutical education and research, Dr. Raja has established himself as a dedicated academician and researcher in the fields of Pharmacognosy, Phytochemistry, Herbal Drug Technology, and Natural Product Research. His research interests include medicinal plants, phytopharmaceuticals, phytochemical standardization, herbal formulations, and quality evaluation of herbal medicines.
Dr. Raja has published more than 87 research papers in reputed national and international journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, and UGC-approved databases. He has also authored several scholarly book chapters on medicinal plants and phytochemistry and is the author of the practical textbook Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry–II Practical for B.Pharm. students.
His innovative contributions to pharmaceutical research have been recognized through the grant of two Indian patents, including an Expired Medicine Detector and a Microwave-Assisted Extraction Device for Rapid Phytochemical Screening. He has successfully supervised more than 17 undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and has actively mentored students in research and healthcare innovation programmes. A passionate advocate of lifelong learning, Dr. Raja regularly participates in faculty development programmes, professional training courses, scientific webinars, conferences, and guest lectures. He has successfully completed SWAYAM and ICMR certification programmes in scientific writing and traditional medicinal plants, reflecting his commitment to academic excellence and continuous professional development.
Dr. Raja is a life member of several prestigious professional organizations, including the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), APPA, and the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA). His unwavering dedication to teaching, research, innovation, and student mentorship continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences and herbal medicine research.
