About Author

Dr. Ragni Kumari is a distinguished academician, optometrist, public health expert, and researcher with over 17 years of experience in teaching, clinical practice, research, and healthcare administration. She currently serves as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Optometry at Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences (UPUMS), Saifai. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Health along with advanced qualifications in optometry, hospital management, and medical education.
Dr. Kumari has authored over 150 peer-reviewed research publications and contributed to multiple academic books and book chapters, including work in ethical healthcare, ocular sciences, artificial intelligence, and Indian medicine and telemedicine (IMTM). Her research focuses on contact lenses, cataract management, AIdriven healthcare, telemedicine, and community eye care. She is an active reviewer and editorial board member for reputed journals such as PLOS ONE, PLOS Global Public Health, Current Eye Research, and Cureus. An innovator, she also holds multiple patents in AI- and IoT-based healthcare systems.
Her achievements include the Research Excellence Award (2026) at the 3rd International Conference & Award Ceremony for Women Researchers, Best Faculty Award (2026), Most Determined Researcher Award (2025), and International Women Researcher Award (2021), recognising her outstanding contributions to research, teaching, and public health.

Dr. Swati Waghdhare is a distinguished endocrinologist and academic author with significant contributions to medical literature in diabetes and metabolic disorders. She has co-authored key chapters in the widely acclaimed RSSDI Diabetes Update series, including “Weekend Therapies in Diabetes” and “Hypoglycemia in Diabetes: Unrecognised Factors, Exercise and Gastroparesis.” She is actively involved in the Internal Medicine Training (IMT) programme at Max Healthcare, mentoring trainees as a Clinical and Educational Supervisor under the Joint Royal College of Physicians Training Board (UK). Her work also extends to Indian medicine and telemedicine (IMTM), where she has contributed to advancing digital health solutions and improving access to diabetes care through m-health and e-health initiatives. With an extensive portfolio of peer-reviewed publications, her work reflects a strong commitment to evidence-based practice, medical education, and innovative healthcare delivery.
