It is our immense pleasure to bring out the “First Edition” of this book which is dedicated to the students and faculty of B. Pharma. institutes of this country. This book is mainly designed as a basic concept of Pharmaceutical organic Chemistry of B.Pharm course in pharmacy as per PCI syllabus.
Sincere efforts have been made to present theoretical aspects in details along with structure, Method of Preparation, Chemical reaction for easy understanding.
The major objective of this book is to provide students, collective information about subject in simple and lucid language. We have kept in mind the difficulties which the students generally face. Mrs. Nehal C. Gandhi is an Associate Professor and HOD Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, S.S. Agrawal Institute of Pharmacy, Navsari, Gujarat, India. She has completed her Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from Rajiv Gandhi University, Bangalore in 2009, and Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Andhra Pradesh in 2013. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Bhagwan Mahavir University, Surat, Gujarat, India.
She has total 14.5 years of professional experience spanning academia and the pharmaceutical industry. Her research interests include pharmaceutical chemistry, drug design, synthesis, and characterization of novel compounds.
Mrs. Gandhi has published 20 research articles in reputed national and international journals and has three granted patents to her credit. She has received a research grant of ₹3.5 lakhs. She has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, seminars, faculty development programs, and workshops, and has delivered an oral presentation at the 73rd Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC-73), Hyderabad.
She has served as a Resource Person for Refresher Courses organized by the Gujarat State Pharmacy Council, delivered guest lectures at various institutes, and has been an Evaluator for the Smart India Hackathon 2025. In recognition of her research excellence and academic contributions, she was honored with the Youngest Researcher Award in 2023.
Dr. Dikshitkumar C. Modi is currently the Professor and Principal in S.S. Agrawal Institute of Pharmacy, Navsari Gyjarat – India. He has completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from L.M. Pharmacy College, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) from Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Gujarat. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
He has 18 years of experience in the academic field and has made significant contributions to teaching, research, and academic administration. His research interests lie in pharmaceutical sciences and related interdisciplinary areas.
Dr. Modi has published more than 40 research articles in reputed national and international journals and has three granted patents to his credit. He has received a research grant of ₹6.75 lakhs. He has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, seminars, faculty development programs (FDPs), and workshops.
He has delivered guest lectures at various institutes, served as a Resource Person for Refresher Courses organized by the Gujarat State Pharmacy Council (GSPC), and has been invited as a Guest of Honour at national and international conferences. He is also actively involved in various professional pharmaceutical bodies.
