As per national medical education post graduate medical education regulations Journal club is mandatory and core component of the academic curriculum. Dr. Anand Acharya, MD (Pharmacology), is an eminent medical educator, researcher, and academic administrator currently serving as Dean and Professor of Pharmacology at Konaseema Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Foundation (KIMS&RF), Amalapuram. With over two decades of distinguished service in health professions education, he has been instrumental in driving institutional growth, curriculum delivery, and quality enhancement in medical training.
A recognized authority in Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME), Dr. Acharya holds advanced certifications from prestigious national centers, including the National Teacher Training Course (NTTC) at JIPMER and the Advanced Course in Medical Education (ACME) through the National Medical Commission. He actively serves as a resource person and trainer for Faculty Development and Curriculum Implementation Support Programs, advocating for structured academic monitoring, experiential learning, and evidence-based logbook assessments.
Beyond his administrative leadership, Dr. Acharya is an accomplished researcher with over 120 peer-reviewed publications and 22 patents. His expertise spans Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacovigilance, Clinical Toxicology, and Medical Education Research. As a recognized Ph.D. guide under Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, he continues to mentor undergraduate and postgraduate scholars, emphasizing systematic documentation, reflective learning, and rigorous academic audit practices to uphold standard medical training metrics.
