Bone is one of the very often transplanted tissue in the human body only blood transplant precedes it. autologous bone grafting is the gold standard procedure and approximately one million bone graft procedures are executed worldwide every year. Intra oral bone grafts correspondingly utilized in the field of surgical oncology- head and neck for small sized defects and are often preferred in maxillofacial reconstruction. Extraoral autografts are gold standard and are used for large scale reconstruction; but intra oral autografts are advantageous as its close proximity to operating field and minimizes need of second operative procedure for harvesting graft.
The first two chapters of the book includes bone biology, types of graft materials, fate of Auto Bone Graft etc. there is new addition of chapter bone graft instrument and principles of bone grafting which will explore the diversity of bone graft instruments, their clinical application and limitations, along with comprehensive review of bone grafting principal technique. In chapter of Intra oral bone grafts and Extraoral autografts brief anatomical review of the site is followed by a thorough description of the harvesting technique is given and part of each chapter is devoted to clinical applications of a given graft, followed by a list of potential complications. The book will be incomplete without description of complication hence; we include the chapter of potential complications, their aetiology, consequences and what are the steps to avoid such complications.

Invented and patented Trinity mini plate for mandibular fracture treatment received multiple state and national level prize for scientific presentation. Currently pursuing doctor of philosophy from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Institute of Dental Science, Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. Published numerous articles as national as well as international level primarily related to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Chief author of book titled “Guide to Craniomaxillofacial Osteosynthesis” at notion press publishing.
Dr. Hasti Kankariya: Has a work experience of more than 10 years in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dental Implantology. Working at K.D. Dental College and Hospital, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh as Professor and Head of the department, in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Established Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Mathura and Agra region of Uttar Pradesh. Published numerous articles primarily related to Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.
